Wildlife & Environment
We Look After More Than Trees
Brisbane backyards are home to all kinds of wildlife, and we always check before we cut. Before any work begins, we inspect trees for nests, hollows, dreys, and signs of animals. If wildlife is found, we stop work immediately and contact the appropriate wildlife handler.
Koalas
Koalas are a vulnerable species and are actively protected across Brisbane and the Redlands. If a koala is spotted on or near a job site, we stop all work immediately. We do not approach or handle koalas under any circumstances. We contact the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital on 1300 264 625 and wait until a wildlife carer has assessed the situation before resuming work.
Possums
If a possum or possum nest is found, we stop work and contact a wildlife handler. Where a hollow is removed, we install a possum box in a nearby tree to provide alternative habitat.
Birds
If a nest with eggs or active chicks is found, we stop work immediately and do not disturb it. We contact a wildlife spotter catcher to assess the situation. Work will not resume until the wildlife is safe.
Snakes
We pause work, secure the area, and call a wildlife handler. We do not resume until the snake is safely relocated.
We follow all Queensland wildlife regulations under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 on every job, every time.
